When something is true it is true regardless of whether it is believed as true or not.
[0:00] A Pastor's Reflections, Words of Truth. John 7, 14, 15. Now about the midst of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple and taught.
[0:11] ! And the Jews marveled, saying, How knows this man letters, having never learned? John 6, 68. Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life.
[0:27] 2 Timothy 3, 14. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them.
[0:40] When something is true, it is true regardless of whether it is believed is true or not. God's Word, for instance, is true in and of itself, and does not need someone to verify it.
[0:54] John 6, 63. The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, they are life. Only words of truth could ever produce spirit and life.
[1:06] No amount of words, no matter how spiritual they sound, could ever produce the actual life of the spirit, unless they were the words of truth. As only the truth leads to life.
[1:18] John 14, 17. The spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not, neither knows him. Those who believe the truth receive the words of truth, that then lead to the life of the spirit.
[1:34] It is only those who receive the words of truth, that will then experience the life of truth. John 7, 17. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God.
[1:49] The one who believes the truth has the assurance of the life of truth now abiding in them. They do not need some outward form of evidence to prove that fact.
[1:59] Why? Because they have received the witness of the life of the spirit. However, the ability to continually walk in the truth is directly tied to the decision to continue in the words of truth.
[2:16] Continuing in the words of truth, the scripture, keeps a continual source of truth flowing into our minds and lives, so that we might continue in the walk of truth.
[2:27] One of the most tragic things to witness is one who is alive in the spirit by the word of truth, choosing to walk contrary to the truth.
[2:38] Tragically, we can believe the truth, receive the truth, be changed by the truth, and still choose to live daily lives that do not follow after the truth.
[2:50] When something is true, it is true regardless of whether it is believed or not. We do not need evidence of the truth to believe the truth, but that does not mean there is no evidence.
[3:04] The evidence of the truth's effect in our lives is an inner witness and an outward walk. The inner witness is 100% the responsibility of the life of the spirit.
[3:16] The outward walk is a choice to continue in the things which we have learned and have been assured of. The words of truth. John 6, 68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go?
[3:32] Thou hast the words of eternal life, the words of truth. Father, thank you that there is no evidence that can ever be brought against your truth to prove it false.
[3:45] Even though the truth needs no evidence, I thank you for the evidence of the life of the spirit and the word of truth. Help me today to not only live in the truth, but to also walk in it.
[4:00] Amen.
