It simply takes an entrance to experience the life God has for us.
[0:00] A pastor's reflections come into life. John 5 24! Truly, truly, I say unto you,! He that hears my word and believes on him that sent me has everlasting life,! and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life.
[0:21] Romans 8 1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus. John 1 4 In John chapter 5, Jesus uses a few different terms regarding life, death, and condemnation that are very familiar terms to us when used in a different context.
[0:47] Those phrases are, come into, and passed from. Every day, you and I come into many places and spaces.
[0:58] It is perfectly normal to come into a room without ever actually thinking of all the implications of that action. For example, one cannot enter a room without first exiting another space.
[1:13] To come into a room means no longer partaking of the activities and events that were in the space left behind. It means now being in a brand new space that is confined to a location all its own.
[1:28] The implication is very clear. To come into a certain space means that you are no longer in a previous space. The other phrase referred to is past from.
[1:41] While come into puts the action of changing spaces as a possibly still future event. Past from indicates a past event.
[1:52] A change of space has already taken place. To put this in the context of changing rooms. Once one has passed from one room into another.
[2:04] He is then clearly no longer in the previous space. No matter how long he may have been in that previous space. Or how identified he may have been with it. Once one leaves that space.
[2:15] They are 100% now passed from it. In John chapter 5. These simple to be understood terms. Are being used to grasp a not so simple to understand concept.
[2:29] While physically having experienced no change in location. The scripture tells me that I can in fact move my location from death to life. And that once having done that.
[2:41] I will not need to ever fear that my location will change back to death. Once in life it appears that the door to the room of death. Is closed forever.
[2:53] That is some really good news to come into. So how does one experience this change. That brings one into the room of life. John 3 16.
[3:04] For God so loved the world. That he gave his only begotten son. That whosoever believes in him should not perish. But have everlasting life. Ephesians 2 8. For by grace are you saved.
[3:17] Through faith. Not not of yourselves. It is the gift of God. God freely escorts us into the room of life. If only we would choose to follow him through that door.
[3:31] John 10 9. I am the door. By me if any man enter in. He shall be saved. Today. We can heed the words of God. Follow the shepherd of God.
[3:43] And enter through the doorway. Into the life of God. There is nothing to prevent us. From experiencing life. And having the door of death.
[3:53] Shut behind us. Forever. It simply takes an entrance. An entrance of God's word. Into my heart by faith. And an entrance of my soul. Into life.
[4:04] 1 John 5 12. He that has the son. Has life. Father thank you for allowing me. To enter into the space of life.
[4:16] Thank you that through faith in Christ. I not only enter life. But the door of death. Is forever closed behind me. Help me today. To live as one who has nothing to fear.
[4:28] And everything to live for. Amen.
