[0:00] A pastor's reflections, the eternal word. Exodus 34, 29. And it came to pass when Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand. [0:15] ! God's word is not only time-tested, but eternity-tested. [0:42] There has never been a time in which God's word has not existed. Neither will there be a time in which his word will not exist. All that has been revealed of God to man is contained in his word. [0:56] And yet that revelation did not come all at once. Even though God's word exists complete in eternity, God did not choose to give that word to man all in one revelation, but over many years and in many revelations. [1:14] For Moses, in Exodus 34, he has just received the most complete revelation of God's word to date. Not only did God reveal the Ten Commandments to Moses, he had Moses record them for all of posterity and time. [1:32] Man would never again be without the written word of God. Psalm 119, 89. Forever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven. [1:43] What you and I have today is something so much greater than Moses could have ever imagined. God will continue to give Moses revelation concerning himself, his word, and his law. [1:59] But what Moses will never have is the full revelation of the complete and final word of God to man, Jesus. You and I hold in our hands the word of God in its entirety. [2:15] And we are given the opportunity to know the person of the word of God in his entirety. There is no revelation remaining to man of who God is and of his word. [2:26] That revelation was complete and final in the person of Jesus. All of what can be known of God and all of what will be known of God has been revealed in Jesus. [2:41] Colossians 2, 9. For in him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Today, you can know the eternal God through his eternal word. [2:53] That word is final and complete. However, our ability to understand and contain all of God will be an ongoing revelation. [3:04] Not of who God is, but of the God who is. Eternity cannot contain God. And yet, God's word is enough to contain all of who God has revealed himself to be for us. [3:18] Father, thank you for stooping down and speaking to man with the revelation of your word. Thank you that all of the guesswork of who you are has been answered in the person of the word of God. [3:32] Jesus. Help us today. Take the time to read the word of your eternal revelation to man. Amen. Amen.
