God asks us to do the work of believing that all things are possible with Him.
[0:00] A pastor's reflections. All thy work. Exodus 20 verse 9. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work.! John 9.4. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day. The night comes when no man can work.
[0:19] Lamentations 3.27. It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth. There is a work for each of us to do, and there is also a specific time frame for that work to be accomplished.
[0:35] In Exodus 20, God was establishing Israel's need to work, but also their need to rest. And rest always comes after work. 2 Thessalonians 3.10.
[0:48] For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. We cannot expect to receive what comes next until we do what comes first.
[1:03] Work before rest, death before life, and suffering before glory. These are spiritual truths that stand independent of how we feel about them, or how we choose to respond to them.
[1:16] However, if we would choose to live by the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, Romans 8.2, and do the things that come first, we would then have the blessing of receiving those things which come after.
[1:30] The work God has given us to do must be accomplished in the time he has given us to do that work. There is a limit to our opportunity and the availability to do the work that is very specifically ours.
[1:45] There is a work that has been given to each of us by God to be accomplished through God and for God. Are you willing to do the work God has given you in the time he has given you?
[1:58] Rest follows work. Have you entered the rest that follows the work of God? Hebrews 4.10 For he that has entered into his rest, he also has ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
[2:14] John 6.29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that you believe on him whom he has sent. Jesus entered into the rest of God.
[2:26] After he had accomplished the work of God in the time that God had given him. Having entered into that rest, the work ceases. For you and I, we choose daily if the rest is worth the work.
[2:43] The work of believing that our God has worked on our behalf. Will you enter God's rest today as you choose to accomplish his work for you? Will you work his work in the time that he has given you?
[2:58] He asks you to do the work of believing that all things are possible. Matthew 19.26 But Jesus beheld them and said unto them, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.
[3:14] Mark 9.23 Jesus said unto him, If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes. Father, thank you for the impossible work that has been accomplished in our behalf.
[3:29] And thank you for the possible work you now give us to believe can be accomplished in and through us. We choose today to work the work of God in the time that you have given us.
[3:42] Give us faith that believes to see the possible work of God being accomplished in the impossibilities of our lives. Amen.
