[0:00] A Pastor's Reflections, Prepared for Partaking. Exodus 12, 9. Eat not of it raw, nor sodden it all with water, but roast with fire, his head with his legs, and with the pertinence thereof.

[0:18] John 6, 53. Then Jesus said unto them, Truly, truly, I say unto you, except you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.

[0:30] 1 John 5, 12. He that has the Son has life, and he that has not the Son of God has not life. In Exodus 12, God was instructing Moses and the entire congregation of Israel on how to properly partake of the Passover Lamb.

[0:49] Having slain the Lamb and applied its blood to the doorpost of the house, it was now time to prepare and receive the Lamb. Just as God was very specific on the condition of the chosen Lamb, Exodus 12, 5.

[1:05] Your Lamb shall be without blemish. So he is also just as specific on how each member of the house was to partake of that Lamb. Exodus 12, 9.

[1:16] Eat not of it raw, nor sodden it all with water, but roast with fire. Having obeyed in the choosing of the Lamb, sacrificing of the Lamb, and then applying the blood of the Lamb to the house, it is easy to see how someone who has done this would think that now, as long as the Lamb was partaken of, what did it matter how it was received?

[1:41] However, God's method of deliverance is never in half measures, but all the way. Just as God was in the details of the Lamb and its sacrifice, so he is also in the details of those who receive the Lamb and their method of partaking.

[1:56] Today, there are those who think that as long as Jesus is received, what does it matter how he is received? All that matters is that one partakes of the Lamb.

[2:09] There is some truth in that. But unfortunately, there is also a whole lot of error as well. Many who have believed themselves to be partakers of the Lamb will be shocked to discover that their method of receiving the Lamb was not in accord with the one who gave the Lamb.

[2:28] Matthew 7.21 Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that does the will of my Father, which is in heaven.

[2:41] Matthew 7.13-14 Enter you in at the straight gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction. And many there be which go therein, because straight is the gate, and narrow is the way which leads to life, and few there be that find it.

[2:59] You see, we partake of the Lamb as God intended, or not at all. We do not get the option of modifying his recipe. The Lamb raw.

[3:11] There are many who will attempt to take his name only and leave out all the other parts. They want to have a magic talisman that they can use at any time to make life better. They figure that as long as they have the name of the Lamb, they have the Lamb.

[3:28] The Lamb cooked in water. Then there are those who want to add to the Lamb. It's not enough just to take him as God intended, but something more needs to be added to spice him up, or to add some flavor or seasoning.

[3:42] For them, the Lamb alone is not good enough to satisfy their appetites or desires. Colossians 2, 6 and 7. As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk you in him, rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith.

[4:02] Ephesians 2, 8. For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God. We do not have the option of choosing the method of how we receive the Lamb.

[4:18] Yes, the most important thing is to be a partaker of the Lamb. But those who partake do so God's way. There is no other. 1 Corinthians 5, 7 and 8.

[4:32] Purge out therefore the old leaven, that you may be a new lump as you are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

[4:54] Father, thank you for putting together the perfect recipe for our deliverance. Thank you that the Lamb has been slain, prepared, and presented. Thank you that there is nothing preventing us from partaking, except our own choices and desires.

[5:12] Help us to never feel that we need to add anything to the all-sufficient Lamb of God. He's perfect, just as he is. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.

[5:22] Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.

[5:37] Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.
