The Source

[0:00] Pastor's Reflections, The Source, Genesis 21, 19. And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water, and she went and filled.

[0:13] Zechariah 13, 1. And that day there shall be a fountain, open to the house of David, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness.

[0:24] 1 Corinthians 6, 11. But you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

[0:36] Oh, the glorious freedom of a blood-washed child of God! No longer is he at odds with his Creator, but is now entered into the eternal rest of salvation. The striving of sin and self has come to an end, and he lives a reconciled life by the eternal sacrifice of love.

[0:56] Truly free, this child of God now stands in the glorious light of the overflowing fountain of God's grace. Never again to experience separation from his God, and never again to be without a continuous source of life and blessing.

[1:12] But what about the failures? What about the slip-ups and the mistakes? What about the willful turning away from the loving heart of his Heavenly Father?

[1:24] Grace has opened up the fount, from which the blessed blood flowed out, life for man and hope for life, the love that ended sin and strife.

[1:34] Then back, back to the fountain that first washed, that first birthed, that first brought new life. For the well of life opened upon Golgotha was opened for all and forever, never to be overdrawn and never polluted.

[1:51] The most thirsty cannot drink it dry, and the most filthy can never defile it. Revelation 22.1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

[2:09] When sin is black, when despair overwhelms, when the hope of change is beyond your reach, return. Return to the source of overflowing life and abundance.

[2:21] Return to the source of blessing and peace. Return to the only place where a weary soul finds rest. Return. But even better, never leave.

[2:34] John 14.16 And I'll pray the Father, and he shall give you another comforter, that he may abide with you forever. Psalm 116.7 Return unto your rest, O my soul, for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.

[2:51] Today, I would speak to the weary, restless soul and remind him of the rest and comfort that his heavenly Father has made available. Not a far-off hope in the distant future, but a limitless fountain of life, opened for today.

[3:07] Romans 10.8 The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth and in thy heart. That is, the word of faith. Philippians 4.19 But my God shall supply all, according to his riches in glory, by Christ Jesus.

[3:23] Father, Father, today is a new day of your grace, a day to experience life in abundance, freedom from sin, and a fresh plunge in the well of your love.

[3:35] Let not sin and despair, those defeated foes, have dominion over me. Let my need always be met with your overflowing supply.
